When you disembark, you will find a long chain of market stalls selling souvenirs, clothing, grass skirts etc. There are also a number of local drivers waiting to take you around the island, and offering independent tours.  Take the water taxi for the best views of the harbour.

There is some great duty free shops along the main street (about 10 minutes from the ship dock),  The best priced duty free is at Fung Kwei shop. They accept credit cards and will deliver your duty free purchases back to the ship for you, Your duty free goods are returned to you on the last day of your cruise.

 Vatu is the currency of Vanuatu.  Most local tour operators and market sellers are happy to accept small Australian Dollars and the duty free shops accept credit cards.

Mele Island tour – This is a beautiful island off the mainland, fantastic for swimming, snorkelling, canoeing.

Round Island Safari – This tour is a full day tour.  You will see fire walking and learn about local traditions, sacrifices. Wander around tropical gardens at Eden on the River. Check out the remnants of the American forces from World War II. Continue along picturesque Havana Harbour to the beach used in Survivor Vanuatu. Return via Klems Hill Lookout has superb views over Mele Bay, You can see Hideaway Island and Port Vila in the distance.

Independent tours – It’s quite easy to get around Port Vila independently as there are many local drivers and taxis, public buses and water taxis .
